My Tools

Web of Science™

Web of Science provides a single destination to access the most reliable, integrated, multidisciplinary research. Quality, curated content delivered alongside information on emerging trends, subject specific content and analysis tools make it easy for students, faculty, researchers, analysts, and program managers to pinpoint the most relevant research to inform their work.

Sixteen databases are available on the Web of Science platform. The All Databases option enables you to search across multiple databases.

InCites™

InCites is a citation-based evaluation tool for academic and government administrators to analyze their institutional productivity and benchmark their output against peers and aspirational peers in a national or international context.

Use InCites to answer such questions as:

  • Which papers are most influential in a given field of research?

  • Which authors are rising stars in their fields?

  • How many articles has my institution produced in the past five years? How does that output compare to that of peer institutions?

  • Has the research output of my country improved or declined in comparison with that of other countries?

  • Where are the researchers who collaborate with researchers at my institution?

  • Are researchers in my country performing better or worse than researchers in other countries publishing in the same journals?

EndNote™

EndNote online allows you to create and manage a library of references stored on a secure server operated by Thomson Reuters. Once you set up your library, you can:

  • Add references to your EndNote library directly from any Web of Science database.

  • Organize references in folders for access and use at any time.

  • Create formatted reference lists in a variety of publishing styles.

  • Send e-mail alerts to your EndNote online library.

Journal Citation Reports®

Journal Citation Reports is a comprehensive and unique resource that allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from over 11,000 scholarly and technical journals from more than 3,300 publishers in over 80 countries. It is the only source of citation data on journals, and includes virtually all areas of science, technology, and social sciences. Journal Citation Reports can show you the:

  • Most frequently cited journals in a field
  • Highest impact journals in a field
  • Largest journals in a field

Citation and article counts are important indicators of how frequently current researchers are using individual journals. By tabulating and aggregating citation and article counts, JCR offers a unique perspective for journal evaluation and comparison.

Essential Science IndicatorsSM

Essential Science Indicators provides Internet access to a unique and comprehensive compilation of essential science performance statistics and science trend data derived from Thomson Reuters data. The chief indicators of productivity (overall influence) are journal article publication counts. Total citation counts and cites per paper are indicators of influence and impact (weighted influence).

It is important to recognize that the data in Essential Science Indicators are limited to Thomson Reuters-indexed journal articles only. No books, book chapters, or articles published in journals not indexed by Thomson Reuters are taken into account either in terms of publication or citation counts.
