What's New in Research Performance Profiles?
New! PDF and CSV Export Options for Collaboration Networks (Ego Networks)
Institution and Author Collaboration Network data can now be exported in PDF and/or CSV formats. The data visualization--the ego network, along with its legend--may be exported in PDF format. The data that generate the graph may be exported in CSV format. These export options will make it easier to analyze and share InCites data outside the application.
Partial Summary Metrics Reports
Now you can create partial summary metrics report using the Custom Report feature. A partial summary metrics report shows only selected metrics or categories of metrics. It requires less processing time than a full summary metrics report and therefore displays faster.
Composite Document Type
A new document type, Article, Note, Review, has been added to the list of document types in the Custom Report feature. Article, Note, Review is a composite document type. If you select this document type, your report will include documents classified as article or note or review. The individual document types Article, Note, and Review are still available.
New! Visualization of Collaboration Data
Two new reports visualize collaboration data as ego networks: Ego Network - Authors and Ego Network - Institutions. Both enable you to evaluate the extent of collaboration between pairs of authors or pairs of institutions based on six metrics: Times Cited, Web of Science Documents, Average Cites per Document, Journal Actual/Expected Citations, Category Actual/Expected Citations and Average Percentile.
To generate an ego network, you need to create a custom report.
Note: If your browser is Internet Explorer version 8, clear the compatibility view settings. The reports do not render correctly in IE version 7.
Baselines Update for Research Performance Profiles
As of 29 March, 2011 baselines have been calculated for the Research Performance Profiles (RPP) module of InCites. These baselines will become available to customers with their next quarterly update to the RPP. The baselines update means that now the 2011 publications in the RPP datasets will have information available for calculating Expected to Actual Citation counts (for both Categories and Journals) as well as Percentile information. This also means that baselines for all preceding years will update, to include citation counts from 2011 publications.
Updated Aggregate Performance Indicator Definition
The glossary definition of Aggregate Performance Indicator has been revised and updated.
