The summary report for a portal provides daily usage statistics for the following activities in a single month:
- Maximum Contractual Users
- Access denied: Concurrent/simultaneous user license limit exceeded
- Access denied: content item not licensed
By generating this report monthly, you can determine peak months of usage. You can also compare the two categories of access denied. A high number of the first category (Concurrent/simultaneous user license limit exceeded) is another indicator of heavy usage. A high number of the second (content item not licensed) might indicate a demand for content not currently available to users.
If you selected the option to Include User Credentials on the Report Settings page, then the table will have an additional column with this heading: Credentials. To the right of the credential in the same row are usage statistics for that credential. The date of usage is in the row above and to the left of the credential.
This report provides counts of the same activities that the Customer Summary report, which is COUNTER-compliant, provides. The difference is that the summary report provides daily counts for one month. The COUNTER report contains monthly counts for a selected period.
