Download Options

XLS

Microsoft Excel file format. This is one of three COUNTER-compliant download formats. This format is available for both COUNTER-compliant reports and reports that do not adhere to the COUNTER Code of Practice.

If you open the spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel, you will see that the dates are not in the exact format prescribed by COUNTER. For example, COUNTER prescribes that the date the report was run should be in this format: yyyy-mm-dd. In Excel, the date run is in this format: mm/dd/yyyy. Also, Excel displays the month and year at the top of each column as mm-yy and not mm-yyyy.

CSV

Comma separated values. This is a text format that uses commas to separate fields and quotation marks to enclose field values.

PDF

Portable document format.

TSV

Tab-delimited format. This is a text format that uses tabs or tab characters to separate fields. This is one of three COUNTER-compliant download formats. It is available only for COUNTER-compliant reports.

XML
